Cpl Frank Morganthaler, USMC (I-NY-17) http://www.frankmorganthaler.com who resides in Hawthorne, New York served in the US Marine Corps for 2 years and is running for Congress in the 17th Congressional District of New York.  Frank Morganthaleris running as an Independent Candidate for the Congressional seat that is currently occupied by a Congresswoman Nita Lowey, a 24 year incumbent, a Pelosi clone, a radical liberal Democrat who supports Socialist programs, one of the irresponsible members of Congress who voted for the flawed Obama Health Care Bill, has repeatedly supported the irresponsible out of control spending by the Pelosi Congress and the Obama Administration that has driven the National Debt to $16 trillion.  Frank Morganthaler was born inYonkers, New York on June 1, 1948.  He obtained a high school diploma from Cardinal Spellman High School in Bronx, New York on June 19, 1966.  Frank Morganthaler then matriculated at the Westchester Community College from 1966 to 1968 before enlisting in the US Marine Corps on March 26, 1969.  He attended Mercy College in Bronx, New York for two years in 1975 and 1976. 

Frank Morganthaler was sworn into the US Marine Corps at the Recruiting Office at Whitehall Street in New York City, New York on March 26, 1969.  PVT Morganthaler entered boot camp at the US Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Paris Island, SC on March 27, 1969 and was assigned to Platoon 345, 3rd Battalion; he completed boot training in May 31, 1969.   On June 1, 1969, PVT Morganthaler was subsequently assigned to the Infantry Training Regiment at Camp Geiger, at Camp Lejeune US Marine Corps Base, North Carolina; PVT Morganthaler was promoted to Private First Class on August 1, 1969.  In September 1969, PFC Morganthaler was transferred to the US Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California.  On February 1970 he was assigned to the Staging Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California; in March 1970 he was transferred to Camp Butler, Okinawa and on April 1, 1970 PFC Morganthaler was promoted to Lance Corporal.  In May 1970 he was transferred from Camp Butler to Da Nang, South Vietnam in I Corps as rifleman with the Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division; he subsequently was assigned to a Combined Action Platoon and Security Platoon.  On August 1, 1970 he received a battlefield promotion to Corporal.  His unit returned to Camp Butler, Okinawa on March 8, 1970, then he returned to Camp Pendleton a few days later.  For Combat Duty Cpl Morganthaler was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V”, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Republic of Vietnamese Meritorious Unit Citation, and various service and campaign medals.  After 2 years of active duty, on March 15, 1970 Cpl Frank Morganthaler, USMC was released from active duty at Camp Pendleton, Cpl Morganthaler was assigned to the Inactive Ready Reserve and was Honorably Discharged from the US Marine Corps on March 25, 1975.  

Following Frank’s release from the US Marine Corps, in April 1971 he was employed by United Aircraft in Norwalk, Conn; in October 1971 he was employed at TECA Medical Electronics in White Plains, New York while he was making application and qualifying to join the New York City Fire Department (NYFD).  On May 19, 1973 he joined theNYFD as a Firefighter and was assigned to Engine Company 71 in South Bronx.  During his employment with NYFD he served in various Engine and Ladder Companies, the units he was assigned to over the years received a Service Rating “A” Award in 1984 and Meritorious Unit Citations in 1973, 1976, 1980, 1987, and 1989; he remained employed with NYFD until May14, 1995, when he was medically retired as a Lieutenant due to injuries sustained in a small collapse (although he previously passed the Captain’s exam and although he was due for a promotion, he was medically retired because of injuries).  From 2002 to present Frank has been a self-employed Licensed Private Investigator and Emergency Planning Consultant.  Frank has been married to his wife Barbara for 32 years; they have one daughter, Michelle.  Frank and Barbara are members of Holy Rosary Catholic Parish in Hawthorne, New York.

Frank is a member of the VFW, the NRA, the American Legion (Past Commander and Vice Commander of his Post), the Marine Corps League, the Vietnam Veterans of America, the retired Fire Officers/Firefighters of the Fire Department of New York, former member American Red Cross Disaster Response Team and Operations Coordinator, former member Habitat for Humanity, a volunteer with “America’s Vet Dogs” & “Canine Companions for Independence” (providing “service dogs’ to seriously Wounded Warriors), Co-Chair Armed Forces Day Parade Committee (’09 to present), Volunteer in support of the FDR VA Medical Center at Montrose, NY, Co-Chair Eastchester Gold Star Mothers Monument Committee, Board Member New York State Medal of Honor Monument Committee, National Board Member Animal Charities, a member of Westchester-Putnam Right to Life Party, and the White Plains Tea Party Organization.  Frank has been endorsed by the New York Right to Life Committee, Westchester-Putnam Right to Life Party, Citizen’s for Freedom Tea Party Organization, Rally for America Tea Party Organization, Westchester County Firearm Owners Association (local NRA Group), Rockland County Korean Veterans, the Marine Corps League, and multiple American Legion Posts in the District.
