For the last 20 months criminal element, those who are being “oppressed”, according to bleeding heart Progressives and Socialist Democrats, have been given free rein in sanctuary cities to terrorize, rob, and murder American Citizens; the result has been that crime is skyrocketing.  Over 50 US sanctuary cities have worse homicide rates than civilian deaths in Ukraine from the Russian invasion.  Based on official UN statistics, Ukraine's civilian death rate is 13.12 per 100,000 people.  By comparison, St. Louis has a civilian death rate of 38.2 murders per 100,000 people, Baltimore has a civilian death rate of 37.3 murders per 100,000 people, and Chicago has a civilian death rate of 14.2 murders per 100,000 people.

For over two years with over 500 riots in sanctuary cities, 8,000+ Police Officers were seriously injured, hospitalized, and assassinated depleting Police Forces; thousands of police cruisers were set on fire.  Those riots were organized and led by ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter, but none of the organizers or leaders of the riots were ever prosecuted by the US Department of Justice.  The campaigns to defund Police Forces by Socialist Democrats in sanctuary cities has further depleted the ranks of Police Forces, which has impeded law enforcement and fueled skyrocketing crimes.  Disrespect for Police Officers and attacks against them, even by children, have seriously interfered with and impeded law enforcement, making it easy for violent criminals to prey on society, and resulted in the retirement of thousands of Police officers.  

Criminal elements have been entering the US among the 3 million unvetted, mostly illiterate single adult male Illegal Aliens.  They have been flooding into the US through the wide-open Mexican border with undetected infectious diseases from over 150 countries.  The criminal elements among the 3 million Illegal Aliens, include MS-13 gang members, drug smugglers, human traffickers, Radical Islamic Terrorists, Communist Chinese saboteurs, Cuban Communists, and Iranian insurrectionists who have been involved in criminal activities, including 300 murders each day from the poisoning of America’s youth by Communist Chinese supplied fentanyl.  

Campaigns for the election of leftist prosecutors have been funded by, Nazi sympathizer, George Soros.  When the leftist prosecutors were elected, they refuse to prosecute repeat criminals.  The result is that crime is at an all-time high in over 500 Socialist Democrat run Sanctuary Cities where bail for crimes have all but been eliminated; repeat offenders, convicted criminals, and criminal Illegal Aliens are released back into sanctuary cities, through the revolving door of no bail, to prey on innocent civilians.  It has been reported that Police Officers have arrested certain criminals over one hundred times.  They are repeatedly released with no jail time, because bail has all but been eliminated.

Murder Rate in Major US Cities Higher Than Ukraine's Civilian Death Rate

United Nations group makes shocking comparison

Ukraine's recorded civilian death rate from the Russian invasion is considerably lower than the per capita murder rate in major American cities, according to the United Nations Human Rights office.

Based on pre-pandemic data, 52 U.S. cities had worse homicide rates than Ukraine's civilian death rate, Just the News reported.

But even more American cities may be deadlier than Ukraine amid an invasion, as crime in the United States has skyrocketed in the past two years.

Based on official U.N. statistics, Ukraine's civilian death rate is 13.12 per 100,000 people. By comparison, St. Louis has a rate of 38.2 murders per 100,000 people and Baltimore a rate of 37.3 murders per 100,000 people.

In Chicago, the 2022 murder rate is about 14.8 per 100,000, based on data compiled by CBS News from the FBI's 2019 Crime in the United States report.

As WND reported, a study of 19 cities showed a spike in murders immediately after the death of George Floyd in May 2020, confirming analysts who attribute the record homicide rate to the "Minneapolis Effect."

The homicide rate was flat until the unrest and the subsequent defund-the-police movement that followed the death of a black man in police custody.

Manhattan Institute scholar Heather Mac Donald coined the term "Ferguson Effect" in the wake of the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. As police backed off from discretionary enforcement, an additional 2,000 blacks lost their lives in 2015-16 compared to the previous period. The "Minneapolis Effect," she said, was far worse, making the "Ferguson Effect" looking like "child's play."

In the weeks following Floyd's death on Memorial Day, for example, homicides rose 100% in Minneapolis, 200% in Seattle, 240% in Atlanta and 182% in Chicago. In New York City, shootings more than doubled compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, violent crime has risen substantially in major cities with district attorneys whose campaigns were bankrolled by left-wing billionaire activist George Soros.

Among the DAs is Kim Foxx, the state's attorney for Cook County, which includes the city of Chicago, which recorded more murders in 2021 than any year since 1994. In 2020, Soros donated $2 million to a PAC that backed Foxx's reelection campaign.
