The Out of Control and Reckless Spending by an Irresponsible Administration and Congress
Before we endorsed a Combat Veteran For Congress we ask them if they approve of and would agree to support our Mission Statement. One of the precepts in the Mission Statement is to “rein in the out of control spending by Congress.” Since 2009, we have endeavored to encourage Congress to rein in their reckless and out of control spending that has severely undercut the fiscal stability of the Republic over the last 25 years. With the support of the Congress, the Obama Administration continues to shift the burden of repayment of $17+ trillion in debt onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. We encourage you to click on the below listed link, to view and listen to Pierre Poilievre, a member of Canada’s Parliament, as he recounts how the US Congress recklessly continues to damage the security and financial stability of the Republic, and how he commends Canada’s leadership for not following the unsound and reckless example of the Obama Administration and the US Congress.

Very soon, we will again witness the lack of leadership of both parties in Congress, they will soon demonstrate their continued irresponsibility and lack of courage by putting off the vote to increase America’s debt limit, until after the November election, when they will again raise it. That action will sustain Congress’ continued reckless fiscal policy, and will again, by their vote to permit the Obama Administration to incur more annual debt on the backs of American taxpayers than the nation will be able to generate in the Gross National Product. That debt this year, for the first time in US history, will exceed the annual Gross National Product of the Republic---that is the definition for bankruptcy for any individual or business.
One other important point that is worth looking at, in order to clear up misinformation that has been emanating from the Obama Administration. On page 7 of the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office’s review of 2008 and 2009 income/tax distribution in the US, it was reported that the top 20% of income earners in the United States are paying 94% of all the income tax revenue received by the federal government. The lowest 40% of earners actually have an average income tax rate of below 0. The lowest quintile is “taxed” at a rate of –9%, while the second lowest quintile is “taxed” at a rate of –2%. Perhaps you will recall the frequently promoted talking point by the resident of the White House that there is an “income gap” between the “1%” and everyone else, and how the top 1% are not paying their fair share? Well, that was mainly because the data used for that flawed discussion by the Obama campaign was taken from 2007 fiscal figures, when the republic was at the height of the boom, just as the Pelosi controlled Congress took over the financial reins. As it turns out, those numbers were as fleeting as the real estate bubble. From 2007-2009, the income of the “top 1%” has actually dropped by 36%. In addition, if the government took “all” the income (not just increased their taxes) of the top 1% earners in the country it would only fund the bloated and out of control government bureaucracy for 8 and ½ days---that is another dishonest and misleading presentation put forth by the resident of the White House to continue to generate class warfare and to further divide the American people—something no other President has ever done.
We encourage you to forward this message to all those in your address book who support the goal of reining in the irresponsible and out of control spending by the Congress. In order to help fund that out of control spending and borrowing, the Obama Administration imposed the largest tax increase in history on “all” Americans by enacting the flawed Obama Health Care Bill. Instead of cutting spending, and rooting out all fraud and abuse in a bloated out of control and expanding government bureaucracy, the Obama Administration gave the American people the largest tax increase in US History, and will continue to borrow and spend the Republic beyond bankruptcy. The below listed quote of the decade should be of interest to all:
"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."
~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006
