Combat Veterans For Congress-----Embedded Integrity     

The Combat Veterans For Congress PAC is endorsing Maj Mark E. Green, USMA '86, USA (MC) (Ranger Qualified) as the 117th Combat Veteran For Congress in 9 years.  Major Green who resides in Clarksville, TN with a combined 20 years and 6 months of service in the US Army, Medical School,  and US Army Medical Corps.  He is running for election in an open seat in the 7th Congressional District of Tennessee. He is a fiscally conservative candidate who will work to reduce the national debt, to strengthen the US Armed Forces, to protect the Freedom of Religion guaranteed in the US Constitution, defend traditional Family Values, and will provide “true” representation for the average Americans in Washington, DC.  He will support the Free Enterprise System, continue to work toward unleashing the private sector to continue to grow, create jobs, stimulate private sector business investment, and will work to stop the out of control spending by irresponsible members of Congress. 

Mark Green was born on November 8, 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida, and the family moved to Monticello, MS in 1968.  Mark Green was raised and went to school in Monticello, played baseball in the summer league, and graduated from Monticello High School in May 1982.  Mark’s father is a 100% disabled veteran and served in the US Air Force; he was Honorably Discharged as a sergeant; Mark’s brother served in the US Army deployed to Operation Desert Storm, and was Honorably Discharged as Specialist.  Mark Green received an appointment and entered the US Military Academy at West Point, New York in July 1982. 

While at West Point Cadet Green was a Ski Instructor, on the Intercollegiate Rifle Team, played intermural sports, and attended Army Air Assault School. Cadet Green graduated from West Point in May 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Quantitative (Economics). In November 1989, 2LT Green received a Master’s Certificate in Information Systems from the University of Southern California at Fort Knox Kentucky Satellite.  He received a Doctorate in Medicine Degree in June 1999 from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. 

Cadet Green was sworn into the US Army (Infantry Branch) as a Second Lieutenant on May 28, 1986 at the US Military Academy at West Point, New York. In July 1986, 2LT Green reported to Airborne School, fort Benning, GA. In August 1986, 2LT Green reported to US Army Infantry Officer Basic Course at Fort Benning to December 1986.  In January 1987, he reported to Ranger School in Fort Benning, GA and as awarded his Ranger Tab in April 1987.  2LT Green reported to Fort Knox, KY in April 1987 and completed NBC School in July 1987.  2Lt Green reported to Fort Knox, KY as the 3rd Platoon Leader in Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry (Mechanized), 194th Separate Armored Brigade. 

In May 1988, 2LT Green was assigned as the 1st Battalion Scout Platoon Leader, and in November 1988, he was promoted to First Lieutenant.  In December 1989, 1LT Green was assigned as the 1st Battalion Adjutant (S-1).  In December 1990, 1LT Green was promoted to Captain, and in October 1990, he was ordered to the Advanced Infantry Officer’s Course, Fort Bennington, GA.  Upon completion of Advanced Infantry Officer’s Course, in March 1991 CPT Green reported as the Airborne Logistics and Supply Officer of the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC; he was subsequently given command of Alpha Company (Cold Steel), 1st Battalion, the 505th  Parachute Infantry Regiment.  In January 1993, CPT Green was assigned as the Combat Arms Assignment Officer (G-1) in the 18th Airborne Corps.  

In May 1993, CPT Green reported to Army Recruiting Commander’s Course in Indianapolis, IN.  On September 1993, he took command of the US Army Recruiting Company, Dayton, Ohio. CPT Green was  Honorably Discharged from the US Army on August 1, 1995.  Capt Green’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster for 2nd award), Army Achievement Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster for 2nd award), Expert Infantry Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and various Service Medals.  During the August 1995, Mark Green accepted the US Army Scholarship to attend Medical School and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps, Inactive Ready Reserve (All Scholarship recipients start back in the US Army at Second Lieutenant regardless of prior service). 

In August 1995, 2LT Green enrolled and matriculated at Wright State University School of Medicine, Dayton, OH.  In June 1999, 2LT Green was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine Degree, and was recommissioned as a Captain in the Army Medical Service Corps, with a date of rank of November 10, 1994. Captain Green was assigned to the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Darnall Army Community Hospital at Fort Hood, TX.  CPT Green was promoted to Major in November 2000.  In his senior year of residency Major Green was selected to serve as the Chief Resident.  In June 2002, Maj Green attended the Army Aviation Medicine Course (Flight Surgeon Course), and several special operations courses.  In September 2002, Major Green reported as the Flight Surgeon for the 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne).

In February 2003, Major Green deployed, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, as the Flight Surgeon with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment to Baghdad, Iraq. Once in country, Major Green was assigned as the Flight Surgeon for the Special Operation Task Force searching for Saddam Hussein and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in Iraq.  In theater, the Task Force did multiple search and strike missions to capture High Value Target (HVT) as well as search for WMD.  Major Green flew with special operators to various targets and provided medical stabilization for wounded special operators and HVT’s.  Major Green returned to CONUS in June 2003, and was awarded with the Bronze Star (Meritorious service), Joint Operations Achievement Medal, Combat Medical Badge, and various Service and Campaign Medals.

In October 2003, Major Green deployed, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, as the Flight Surgeon with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and returned to Baghdad, Iraq.  Once again in country, Major Green was assigned as the Flight Surgeon for the Special Operation Task Force searching for Saddam Hussein and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in Iraq.  Major Green was actually involved in the mission that captured Saddam Hussein.  Major Green interviewed Saddam Hussein, the night his unit captured Saddam.  Major Green returned to CONUS in June 2003, and was awarded with the Air Medal (with Combat “V” Device) and various Service and Campaign Medals.

In January 2004, Major Green deployed, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, as the Flight Surgeon with the 160th Special Operations Aviation to Bagram, Afghanistan.  Major Green was assigned as the Flight Surgeon for the Special Operation Task Force, and while in theatre the Special Operations Task Force did multiple search and strike missions to capture High Value Target (HVT) and provided medical stabilization for wounded special operators and HVT’s.  In May 2004, Maj Green returned to CONUS, and was awarded with various Service and Campaign Medals.

In June 2004, Maj Green was assigned as Chief, Department of Emergency Medicine, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, KY.  There he was selected for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel and for attendance to the resident Command and General Staff College. Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  Major Green turned down both selections, and resigned his commission He was Honorably Discharged on June 30, 2006, just over 20 years after graduating from West Point. MAJ Green’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster for 2nd award), Air Medal (with Combat “V” device),  Army Commendation Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters for 3rd awards), Joint Achievement Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster for 2nd Award ), Army Achievement Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster for 3rd award), the Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Flight Surgeon Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and various Service & Campaign Medals. 

In August 2002. Dr Green affiliated with the Emergency Medicine Physician, Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville, TN.  In December 2007, Dr Green  was appointed Chief of Staff Elect, until he left in February 2009, in order to develop his own medical service business.  In April 2010, Dr Green founded and assumed the positions of President and CEO of Align MD, PLLC in Ashland, TN.  In November 2012, Dr Green was elected as a Tennessee State Senator, representing District 22, where he continues to serve.  

Dr Mark Green has been endorsed by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) (Ret), Economist Dr Arthur Laffer who was a member of the Economic Policy Advisory Board in the Reagan administration and an Economic Advisor on the Trump Campaign, The Family Research Council Action, Club For Growth, House Freedom Fund, Tennessee Firefighters Association, 20 Mayors in the 7thCongressional District of Tennessee, 100 grassroots conservative leaders, the Combat Veterans For Congress PAC, and GOPAC.  Mark, his wife, Camie, of 29 years, their daughter Alexa age 26, and their son Mitchell age 22 are members of Lifepoint Church in Clarksville, TN.  Dr. Green’s son Commissions in May 2018 as a 2LT Infantry (USA), and his son-in-law ETS’s in May 2018 after six years of honorable service as an infantry soldier.
