Combat Veterans For Congress-----Embedded Integrity

The Combat Veterans For Congress PAC is re-endorsing a Combat Veteran For Congress who was endorsed as the 87th endorsee in 2014; he is a fiscally conservative candidate who will work to reduce the national debt.  He will continue to work toward unleashing the private sector to grow once again, create jobs, stimulate private sector business investment, and will work to stop the out of control spending by the Obama Administration.  Former SSgt David E. Vogt, III, USMC (R-MD-6) who resides in Brunswick, Maryland served in the US Marine Corps for 8 years and is running for Congress in the 6th Congressional District of Maryland; SSgt Vogt is a first-term member in the Maryland House of Delegates representing the 4th Legislative District and was the 2010 Military Times' Marine of the Year.  

David is running for a seat held by two term Congressman John Delaney (D-MD-6) who does not live in the district and has voted along the party line over 92% of the time alongside Pelosi, and has contributed to the irresponsible out of control spending by the Congress.   Delaney voted against repealing the flawed Obamacare Law, voted to reduce Tricare benefits for military veterans & retirees, and voted against extending the requirement of implementation of Obamacare for private citizens.  In his latest example of poor leadership, Congressman Delaney voted for the International Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement, despite being implored by his constituents to oppose the Congressional bill to approve the Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement.  

David Vogt was born in Tampa, Florida on August 18, 1984.  He spent his youth in Florida, and obtained a high school diploma from the International Baccalaureate School Bartow High School in Bartow, Florida in May 2002.  David attended the University of Maryland University College in College Park, Maryland and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English in August 2009.  David attended the American Military University in Charles Town, West Virginia and will receive a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science-American Governance in 2016

David Vogt was sworn into the US Marine Corps at Military Enlistment Processing Center (MEPS) in Tampa, FL on September 7, 2004.  He began basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina on September 29, 2004, and completed boot camp training as a Marine Rifleman on December 23, 2004 and was promoted to Private/E-1.   In January 2005, PVT Vogt was ordered to US Marine Base, Camp Lejeune, NC to go thru Marine Combat Training; he completed training on February 28, 2005.  On March 2, 2005, PVT Vogt was promoted, ahead of his peers meritoriously, to Private First Class, on April 2, 2005 he was promoted, ahead of his peers meritoriously, to Lance Corporal, and on April 3, 2005.  

LCpl Vogt was subsequently ordered to report to Legal Service Specialist School at the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island.  On June 30, 2005 LCpl Vogt graduated from Naval Justice School as an honor graduate and a Legal Specialist in Military Law, International Law, Administrative Law, and Civil Law.   On March 2, 2006, Lance Corporal Vogt was promoted, ahead of his peers meritoriously, to Corporal and in April 2006 he was ordered to Junior Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Training in the Corporals Resident Leadership Course at the US Marine Corps Base at Quantico, VA; he completed training at the end of May 2006.  

On December 1, 2007 Cpl Vogt was promoted to Sergeant and in February 2008 he completed the Junior Staff Noncommissioned Officer Deployment Skills and Warfare Training Course.  In April 2009, Sgt Vogt was ordered to the Sergeants Resident Leadership Course at the Marine Corps University, Camp Pendleton, CA; he completed training at the end of June 2009 in the top 5% of is class, and was selected as the Noncommissioned Officer of the Year at the US Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton.  On April 2, 2010, Sgt Vogt was promoted, ahead of his peers meritoriously, to Staff Sergeant, on April 8, 2010 SSgt Vogt received the National Image Incorporated Meritorious Service Award for outstanding service and devotion, promoting equal opportunity within the US Marine Corps and in local communities.  On July 14, 2010 SSgt Vogt was selected by the Military Times as the Marine Corps Times Marine of the Year.  

On September 28 2010 SSgt Vogt deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Helmand Province, Afghanistan with the First Marine Expeditionary Force and was assigned to Regional Command Southwest as Detainee Operations Officer.  On March 28, 2011, SSgt Vogt departed Afghanistan for CONUS and was assigned to Headquarters and Support Battalion, Camp Pendleton.  For combat duty in Afghanistan SSgt Vogt was awarded the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the NATO Medal and various campaign and service medals.   In October 2011, SSgt Vogt was assigned to the 1st Marine Division; he was Honorably Discharged from the US Marine Corps on September 29, 2012.  SSgt Vogt’s military awards include 2 Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals, 3 Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals, the NATO Medal, 3 Certificates of Appreciation, 2 Meritorious Masts, and various campaign and service medals.  

Upon release from active duty in the US Marine Corps, David Vogt returned to the greater Washington area, as a 4th Generation Marylander.  In May 2012, David was employed as the Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act Team Leader, at the US Marine Corps Headquarters in the Pentagon, Washington, DC, and remained in that position thru April 2013.  In May 2013, David became the President of the Board of Directors of the Major General Boyd Cook Foundation, and also became a full time graduate student at the American Military University in Charles Town, West Virginia.  David has served as a member of the American Legion, VFW, the NRA, US Navy League, the Marine Corps League, the AMVETS, the State of Maryland GOP, the Fredrick County Maryland GOP, the US Military University Alumni Association, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the National Arbor Foundation, Anaheim Lodge #207 Free & Accepted Masons, and he practices as a non-denominational Christian.   

David has a son Joseph age 5, a son Noah age 3, and a pet rescue dog, Stitch, who is 8 years old and most recently a pet rescue Holland Lop Ear bunny rabbit, Sven, who is 6 months old.   David has a lifetime of volunteers service with numerous churches, area pet rescue shelters, area food shelters, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, US Marine Corps suicide prevention programs, Toys for Tots, US Marine Corps mentorship programs, area elementary schools educational tutoring, blood drive organizations, Habitat for Humanity, and the Military and Civilian Equal Opportunity Programs.  

David Vogt won the Republican nomination to represent the 4th Legislative District in the House of Delegates in June 2014, and was first elected to the position in November of that year.  His current term runs through 2018.  Delegate Vogt has worked tirelessly during his time in the state legislature fighting for these various policy initiatives.  Delegate Vogt sits on the Appropriations Committee, is the ranking Republican on the Education and Economic Development Subcommittee, sits on the Pensions Oversight Committee, and was given special appointment to the Commission for Management of Public Debt.  

In the House of Delegates, David has focused on providing tax relief to Marylanders, enacting common-sense fiscal reforms, serving and assisting our nation's military veterans, and ending the over-testing of our children.  In his first Legislative Session, David unanimously passed his "Troops to Trucks" legislation, a jobs bill that helps veterans find gainful employment in Maryland's growing transportation industry.  He also became the leading voice against Maryland's participation in PARCC testing, which David considers as an overreach of the federal government into local public education systems.
