LYONS: Bureaucracy Rules the Waves
The below listed article is an outstanding analysis of the flawed Law of the Seas Treaty (LOST) by Admiral James A. Lyons, Jr., USN (Ret). LOST encompasses and takes control of economic and technology interests in all the oceans of the world, and will “REDISTRIBUTES WEALTH” from the developed to undeveloped nations, will restrict freedom of navigation, will impact the maritime security of the US Navy by establishing exclusive economic zones, will pre-empt the 2nd Amendment by allowing the confiscation of privately held firearms of all US citizen’s under this anti US Constitution UN Treaty mandate, and will suppress the Free Enterprise System by creating oppressive environmental regulations for the Republic. The resident of the White House has agreed to do what no other US President has ever agreed to do; he has agreed to transfer islands off the coast of Alaska with the surrounding territorial oil rich waters that the United States has sovereignty over to Russia for no reason or for no compensation. The United States sovereignty would be subjugated, in many of the oceans of the world, to the supernatural government that is chartered by the United Nations under the 1982 Convention. Admiral Lyons thorough analysis discusses the flaws, dangers, and reasons why the United States Senate should not ratify the LOST Treaty. Ratifying this LOST Treaty will not only take away the “Liberties and Freedoms” our Founding Father provided for us and our posterities 236 years ago, it will also give control of the oceans of the world covering 2/3rd of the earth’s surface to a small United Nations committee dominated by 41 land locked Third World Nations who have consistently opposed the votes of the United States in the United Nations.
The LOST Treaty is being aggressively pushed by the current resident of the White House, Senator John Kerry, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Senator Harry Reid in order to have it ratified before the November 2012 election by a lame duck Democratically controlled Senate; we watched that same play in in 2008 when the flawed Obama Health Care Bill was passed by a Democratic controlled Lame Duck Congress----the American voters can’t let that happened a second time, and they should hold every US Senator, regardless of party, who votes for it, to be held to account and made to pay for supporting Socialism. Kindly forward Admiral Lyon’s analysis to your US Senators and inform both of them that if they vote for ratification of the LOST Treaty, that you will oppose their reelection now or in the future when they stand for re-election. The US Navy has been exercising “Freedom of Navigation” on the high seas for 236 years (the war of 1812 with Great Britain was fought to guarantee that freedom, now we have been provided with the names of Republican US Senators who are planning to vote to eliminate that precious freedom); the US does not need to seek the permission of a committee of Third World Nations in the UN to navigate the oceans of the world.
