Roger has worked in his family’s construction business, Roth & Sons Construction, for over 20 years. This small business experience gave him an appreciation of what it takes to establish and maintain a business including valuable insights as to the challenges small businesses face in the light of government regulation. The building industry gave Roger interaction with a wide range of businesses. Relating to material suppliers, realtors, insurance agents, home and business owners, lenders, sub-contractors, individual workers from various fields and the general public were all part of this valuable experience.
In 2006, Roger Roth was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly to represent the 56th Assembly District. In the Wisconsin State Assembly, Rep. Roth has built a reputation as a strong fiscal conservative fighting against the tax and spend policies of Democratic Governor Jim Doyle and the Democrat led state legislature. He is the Ranking Member on the Assembly Housing Committee and a member of the Insurance and Law Revisions Committees. Rep. Roth has introduced legislation to spur small business growth, remove restrictions on small business and to challenge the constitutionality of the federal Health Care Reform Bill. He has been a champion of Veteran’s issues, fighting to protect the Wisconsin GI Bill and voting to provide full funding of state Veterans programs and operational funding of the state’s veterans homes.
Rep. Roth’s experience in small business, the military and in the legislature has prepared him to be a voice of the people that will take control out of the hands of politicians and put it back into the hands of the people.
