The Combat Veterans For Congress PAC is endorsing the 76th Combat Veteran For Congress; he is a fiscally conservative and a strict constitutionalist candidate who will work to rein in the out of control spending by the Obama Administration.  Sgt. Robert A. Mansfield, USANG (Ret) (R-PA-2)

http:www.mansfieldforcongress.com lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a 13 year veteran of the US Army and the US Army National Guard running for election in the 2nd Congressional District of Pennsylvania.  Sgt Mansfield is running against Congressman Chakah Fattah (D-PA-2), an 18 year Democrat incumbent and Pelosi Clone who has repeatedly voted for the out of control and irresponsible spending by the Obama Administration, has participated in driving the National Debt to $16 trillion, and has authored the Debt Free America Act (H.R. 4646), to tax all Americans 1% on “every” bank transaction.  Robert Mansfield was born on January 28, 1971 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to a drug addicted mother, who gave him up for adoption, and he was raised in various foster homes.  In March 1991 he received a General Education Development (GED) Certificate in Philadelphia, PA. He also attended Philadelphia Community College.

Robert Mansfield enlisted in the Army National Guard on November 11, 1996 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.  On January 26, 1997 Pvt Mansfield began basic training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina; he completed basic training on June 1997.   Upon completion of basic training he was assigned to the 103rd Engineers, Pennsylvania National Guard, and assigned as the driver for the Commander of the 103rd Engineers.  Pvt Mansfield was promoted to Private First Class in May 1998, and in August 2000 PFC Mansfield was promoted to Specialist.  In May 2005, he reenlisted in the Army National Guard and was assigned to the 131st Transportation Detachment in Philadelphia; Specialist Mansfield was assigned as the Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge of transportation for the Recruit Sustainment Program.

On December 22, 2006 Specialist Mansfield was ordered to pre-deployment training at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.  On December 31, 2006, Specialist Mansfield deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to Baghdad, Iraq from Fort Bliss in Texas and was assigned to the 1048th Transportation Company, Connecticut National Guard; he served on the Convoy Security Combat Team which was assigned to support the 82nd Airborne Sustainment Brigade.   His primary mission in Iraq was to run night re-supply missions from Tallil Air Force Base (8 miles south of Al Nasaria, Iraq) to various bases and outposts for the 82nd Airborne Brigade. Specialist Mansfield was promoted to SGT in April1 2007.   These missions bore a disproportionate number of IED attacks as well as ambushes.  On one of these missions the Humvee he was driving was blown off the road, when the truck behind him was hit by an IED; Sgt. Mansfield sustained a concussion from the blast.  The medical exam turned up kidney cancer, and he was immediately sent home for treatment.  On September 1, 2007, he returned to Indianapolis, Indiana, and was reassigned to the 131 Transportation Detachment in Philadelphia.    Sgt. Mansfield was awarded an Army Commendation Medal, the Combat Action Badge, and various service and campaign medals.  On October 1, 2007, Sgt. Mansfield was assigned to the 181st Brigade, 1st Army Division at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.

In September 2008, Sgt. Mansfield complained of severe headaches, balance problems, loss of concentration, and short term memory loss.  On October 1, 2008, Sgt. Mansfield was assigned to the Wounded Warrior Battalion at Fort Knox, Kentucky for medical treatment.  During that time he was sent to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for major neurological testing for head injuries and treatment for concussive stress fractures from the IED explosion.  The head injuries have permanently affected his eye sight, and he is required to wear dark glasses to counter sensitivity to light and he walks using a cane.   Sgt. Mansfield was put in for the Purple Heart Medal.  He was released from the Wounded Warrior Battalion on June 17, 2010, was Honorably Discharged, and medically retired with 70% Disability on June 28, 2010 from the US Army Reserve.  Sgt. Mansfield’s awards include the 2 Army Commendation Medals, 6 Army Achievement Medals, the Combat Action Badge, Humanitarian Service Medal, and various service and campaign medals.  In 2011, the US Army and the Veterans Administration determined that Sgt. Mansfield did indeed suffer a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as well as concussive stress fractures from the IED explosion.  Sgt. Mansfield’s paperwork for award for the Purple Heart Medal is being expedited.

For the past eighteen years, Sgt. Mansfield has acquired significant experience in the financial sector, including serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Ambiance Magazine.  Additionally, for over twenty years, Robert has been ardently involved in community service, has tirelessly advocated for the homeless, for Veterans issues, and has promoted “American Exceptionalism”.   What’s more, Sgt. Mansfield has been endorsed by the Philadelphia Republican Party, the Philadelphia Eagle Forum (Ned Pfeifer-Director), Bob Asher who is the Republican National Committee Member for Pennsylvania, and Lt. Col. Bill Connor, USA (Ret) (Senior US Military Advisor in Afghanistan).  He is a member of the NRA, and the VFW. He is also a member of the Grace Reformed Episcopal Church in Collingdale, PA.

The Combat Veterans For Congress PAC is pleased to endorse Sgt. Robert A. Mansfield, USANG (R-PA-2) who will bring to Congress private sector skills and wisdom to better solve problems in government and representing the 2nd Congressional District of Pennsylvania.  If you review Sgt. Mansfield’s positions on his Web site, you would be pleased to see that they agree with the Combat Veterans For Congress Mission Statement.  We look forward to working with Sgt. Mansfield, and are pleased that a Combat Veteran of his caliber is running for Congress.  If you have friends, associates, or relatives who know voters in the 2nd Congressional District of Pennsylvania, kindly pass this E-mail on to them, and ask them to support Sgt. Mansfield by working in his campaign, providing financial support for his campaign in any amount, and/or by networking with others who would be willing to support his campaign.  The military is one of the few remaining institutions producing the caliber of men and women needed to restore this nation to the greatness our Founding Fathers envisioned.  We have endorsed another Combat Veteran For Congress that General George Washington would have approved of.  He is a Veteran who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America” for an amount “up to and including his life.”
