The Combat Veterans For Congress PAC is endorsing the 100th Combat Veteran For Congress in five years; he is a fiscally conservative candidate who will work to rein in the out of control spending by irresponsible members of Congress and the Obama administration, will work toward unleashing the private sector to grow once again, to create jobs, and stimulate business investment. Major Arthur S. Moore, USMA ’00, USARNG (Ranger Qualified) resides in Roseville, CA with a combined 14 years of service in the US Army and US Army National Guard, including thirty months deployed overseas. He is running for election in the 4th Congressional District of California against three-term Congressman Tom McClintock (R-CA-4). Art Moore was born on March 24, 1978 in Susanville, California. He was raised in a middle income family in the City of Auburn, in Placer County, California, and graduated a valedictorian from Placer High School in Auburn in May 1996. Art received an appointment and entered the US Military Academy at West Point, New York, and graduated on May 27, 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and a field of study in Environmental Engineering.

Art was sworn into the US Army (Infantry Branch) as a Second Lieutenant on May 27, 2000 at the US Military Academy at West Point, New York. In July 2000, 2LT Moore reported to the US Army Infantry Officer Basic Course at Fort Benning, Georgia and graduated the Platoon Honor Graduate. Upon completion of training at Fort Benning, 2LT Moore was assigned as the 2nd Platoon Leader, Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry (Mechanized), 1st Cavalry Division, at Fort Hood, Texas. In November 2001, 2LT Moore was promoted to First Lieutenant and in November 2002 was assigned as Battalion Maintenance Officer (BMO). 1LT Moore was promoted to Captain on October 1, 2003 and was assigned as Executive Officer of Headquarters Company, 1-9 CAV, 1CD. 

In March 2004, CPT Moore deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2 to Baghdad, Iraq where he and his battalion conducted full-spectrum operations in the Haifa Street section of Central Baghdad. He returned to Fort Hood in April 2005. CPT Moore was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge and various Service and Campaign Medals for combat duty. In September 2005, CPT Moore transferred to the Ready Reserve and subsequently joined the US Army National Guard in February 2006, reporting as Battalion Logistics Officer (S4) to 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry (Light), 29th Infantry Division in Winchester, Virginia. In July 2007, CPT Moore deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Surge). His battalion conducted convoy security, base security, and quick reaction force operations at six locations in Iraq and Kuwait. He returned to Camp Shelby, Mississippi in July 2008. 

CPT Moore was assigned Command of Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry (Light), at Leesburg and Manassas, Virginia and retained command of Charlie Company until April 2010, when he was assigned as an Operations Officer to the 29th Infantry Division at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. On July 27, 2010, CPT Moore was promoted to Major. In December 2010, MAJ Moore was assigned as Battalion Operations Officer (S3) of the 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry (Light), 2nd Brigade, 28th Infantry Division at Dundalk, Maryland. In March 2011, MAJ Moore deployed to the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt where he and his battalion conducted peacekeeping operations. He returned to Camp Atterbury, Indiana in March 2012. 

In December 2013, MAJ Moore was assigned as the Chief Assessment Officer (ORSA) of the 29th Infantry Division at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. MAJ Moore’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters for 4 awards), the Army Achievement Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon (2 Bronze Stars for 3 awards), the Multinational Force and Observers Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Ranger Tab, the Parachutist Badge, the Pathfinder Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the German Military Efficiency Badge (Gold) and various Service and Campaign Medals.

In the private sector, in September 2005, Art Moore joined TAMKO Building Products, Inc. where he led process improvements for roofing product manufacturing operations. In February 2009, Art accepted a position as a Management Consultant with Deloitte Consulting in Arlington, Virginia working throughout the greater Washington metropolitan area, where he was a recognized and accomplished strategy and operations professional serving federal government clients in the US Intelligence Community. From August to September 2009, he was assigned as a Strategic Planner to the Department of Homeland Security’s Intelligence and Analysis Division. From September 2009 to March 2010, he was assigned as Mission Manager of a regional counter-terrorism threat finance team at the National Security Agency. Art was then assigned as a Process Improvement Expert for the Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency from March 2010 to August 2013. Art is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association, the 1st Cavalry Division Association, the National Guard Association of the United States, the VFW, the NRA, the American Legion, and is a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Auburn, California.
